On Sunday January 28th, 2024 Atlantic Voices took the Road to the Isles!
Our winter concert was a musical tour of islands great and small. The show featured music from and about Newfoundland, Cape Breton, and PEI, with stops in Ireland, the Scottish Hebrides, and Maui! We sang about the joys and hard times of island living, about the islands’ natural beauty as well as their unforgiving elements.
This eclectic program featured contemporary folk songs by Allister MacGillivray and Rita MacNeil, traditional ballads, and even a Broadway showtune—’Welcome to the Rock’ from Come From Away.
